ADIRONDACK REGION, - After an extensive
review of many quality applicants, the Adirondack Regional
Tourism Council (ARTC) would like to announce it has named
Ronald Ofner its new executive director.
Former Director of Sales and Marketing at the
Hilton Lake Placid Resort, Ofner began his tenure at ARTC
March 17. He will oversee all general operations for the
council and will pull from his extensive sales and
marketing experience to ensure its mission is met. "After
much consideration, we are pleased to have selected Ron
Ofner as executive director of the Adirondack Regional
Tourism Council. Ron's experience and track record of
outstanding leadership will ensure the vitality of
cooperative economic development through tourism," said
ARTC Board of Directors President Ellen Nesbitt.
Ofner brings more than 20 years of marketing,
development and planning experience to ARTC and has
consistently demonstrated pronounced achievement driving
strategic development growth. Prior to becoming Director
of Sales and Marketing at the Hilton Lake Placid Resort,
Ofner worked as Marketing and Communications Director for
the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake. He also
worked as Director of Community Development and Planning
for Essex County.
But Ofner's local ties do not end there. He has
also served as President of the Adirondack North Country
Association, the Lakes to Locks Passage All American Road
Partnership, the Lake Champlain Basin Program and ARTC,
among other organizations. "I feel extremely privileged to
be a part of a dedicated team whose mission is to promote
this wonderful region of New York state, and look forward
to working with all of the tourism partners to increase
the visibility and recognition of the Adirondack brand."
