Come join the festivities this Saturday as Lake Placid takes center stage

Dec 03, 2008

A Weekend Window is scheduled to open in Lake Placid next Saturday, Dec. 6, when a TV crew from ABC's Good Morning America arrives to film the exciting flurry of holiday activities in this mountain village and surrounding communities.

The GMA crew will cover the Lake Placid Holiday Village Stroll and Tree Lighting, Main Street carolers, the Whiteface Mountain Ski Center, and the hundreds of thousand of colorful lights that twinkle along the shores of beautiful Mirror Lake. These are but a few holiday festivities that have made this magnificent winter wonderland the epicenter of the Christmas season for generations of families.

GMA will also capture the Lake Placid Tree Lighting that takes place at Mid's Park. Mayor Jamie Rogers will flip the switch to light the official 25-foot balsam fir Christmas tree adorned with thousands of lights. Church bells will chime throughout the village at 5:30 pm to mark this special occasion while the Lake Placid School Choir presents a warm medley of holiday carols for all to sing along with.

The feature is schedule to air on Good Morning America from 8 to 9 am, Sunday, Dec. 14.

Come join in the fun as Good Morning America films Adirondack-style holiday spirit on Saturday Dec. 6. From Santa's arrival on a firetruck at noon, to the Lake Placid Tree Lighting at Mid's Park, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
