ADIRONDACK PARK, N.Y., - More than 1,300 individuals voted for the grand prize winner of the national Adirondack Park online photo contest. Of the three categories in the competition, scenic landscapes, outdoor recreation, and family and friends, Rick Kaufman's photo "Indian Head Over Lower Ausable Lake" was selected as the grand prize winner. "I had seen a photo of this location online and nearly gasped, knowing it was a place I must visit. I took my hike on a beautiful summer day and was struck by the mountains sharp decline to the lake below," said Rick Kaufman of Auburn, New York. As the grand prize winner Rick will also receive a two-night stay at the Fern Lodge, a luxurious Adirondack lodge, along with free admission to the W!ld Center in Tupper Lake, NY. The Adirondack region was ranked recently by AllGetaways.com as the best tourist destination among 10,000 others throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.
