Nov 15, 2007ADIRONDACK REGION, N.Y., November 15, 2007- Nearly 300
photos were submitted for the Adirondack Online Fishing
Photo Contest. The first place winner receives a $500 cash
prize, second place, $200 and third, $100.
Of the three finalists in the competition, Jim Osborn's
photo "Northern Pike-Lake George" was selected as the
first place winner. "It was a comfortable day with a lot
of activity and we caught the pike at the south end of the
lake with flags and a tip-up" said Jim Osborn of Derry,
New Hampshire, reflecting on a trip to the Lake George
Winter Carnival with his friend, Carl Schumacher. Second
place went to Steve Harriger of Belfast, New York for his
photo "Learning to Fly Fish-Cedar River Flow" with
Christine S. of Clay, New York placing third for her
photo "Air Pike!" The three winning photographs can be

There are more than 3,000 ponds and lakes and 1,500 miles
of rivers in the Adirondacks for anglers to pursue bass,
trout, walleyes, land-locked salmon, northern pike and
muskies. Fishing has been, and continues to be, one of the
top reasons people visit the Adirondacks, which was
recently ranked by AllGetaways.com as the best tourist
destination among 10,000 others throughout the United
States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
