Check out the many fall festivals and events going on all season long!

Stop off in Lake George at the Adirondack Balloon Festival held annually in September. Voted one of the top 100 events in North America by the American Bus Association, the festival is colorful treat. Hundreds of huge hot air balloons fill the sky, while special events and activities make it fun for the whole family.

Head to Wilmington where Whiteface Mountain plays host to its annual Oktoberfest. Sing and dance along with additional Bavarian bands, take a gondola ride to the top of Little Whiteface for some of the most spectacular views of the Adirondacks in fall bloom.

Even though the days are getting shorter, there's still plenty of time to enjoy the outdoors before the snow flies.

Visit Old Forge where the 90-mile Adirondack Canoe Classic race begins every September. Join in the competition or cheer from the shores of the "original highway of the Adirondacks," as canoers and kayakers from around the world begin the three-day race to the finish line in Saranac Lake.

Carve a silly or scary face at the Pumpkin Festival in Old Forge in October. Face painting, haunted hayrides, games, food and more make this October event fun for the whole family.

The Long Lake Long Boat Regatta, held in September, features the North American War Canoe Championship and many other flat water races. Hosted by the Adirondack Watershed Alliance and Long Lake Tourism, the festival is set against the spectacular fall foliage of Long Lake.

Just about every community in the Park has an annual Harvest Festival and Long Lake is no different. Stock up on locally made specialties like balsam fir products, furniture and maple syrup before heading to Lake Placid for the annual Flaming Leaves Festival. This two-day event features a ski-jumping competition, live blues music, brews and barbecue. Held annually in October, the festival includes a petting zoo with pony rides, arts and crafts and a 60-foot inflatable obstacle course. Take a chair lift or elevator to the top of the 120 meter ski jump at the Olympic Jumping Complex to view the autumnal splendor of the surrounding village.

Don't miss the Adirondack Museum's fall line up of events in September as the community celebrates fall during the Annual Rustic Fair, Fabric Arts Festival and the Great Adirondack Antiques Show.

Take a guided river trip or race down the Moose River at the Canoe and Kayak Festival in Old Forge in October. Exhibits, demos and displays, couple with live music and food make this event a great way to enjoy being outdoors in the fall.
