Kevin Lenhart is a 46er and in the process of becoming a licensed Adirondack Guide so he can share his love of camping in the mountains with visitors. Here, he shares a few of his extraordinary photos of the Adirondacks.
JULY: Mt. Marcy is the Adirondacks' crown peak as the largest mountain in New York, and one of the largest in the east. My favorite time to hike it is in the summer because of the diverse ecosystem of alpine vegetation not found on other mountains. It does not come easy, but there is always a reward for you waiting at the top.
SEPTEMBER: This is a fall sunset on Cascade Mountain. Catching sunrises and sunsets on mountains is one of my favorite things to do in the Adirondacks.
JANUARY: Loon Lake Mountain is one of my personal favorites as it is a lesser known fire tower mountain in a remote location. It was 22 degrees below zero on the summit when I took this shot -needless to say I didnt spend much time on the summit that day despite the beautiful view.
