In Thurman, a village just 20 minutes from Lake George via the Adirondack Northway (I-87), residents proclaim that they live in a place "where nature is a way of life, and sugaring is second nature." Considering this, there really is no better place in all of the Adirondacks to get a taste of what this town makes best – maple syrup.
For 3 weekends in a row beginning Saturday, March 10, 2018, 4 of the largest maple syrup producers and 3 local farms welcome all to come for free tastings, tours, and a wide variety of demonstration and talks. In addition to the maple fun, you will have the opportunity to hang out with llamas, taste sheep and goat cheese, watch a sawmill operation, and partake in the Thurman Maple Sugar Party comprised of a buffet, music, and jackwax dessert.
With a free pancake breakfast kicking off each of the 6 days of the celebration, how can you resist?
