The 1903 Lake Placid train station now serves as a local history museum featuring memorabilia from the 1932 Olympic Winter Games and the Lake Placid Club, early sporting equipment, historic photographs, the diaries of famed-hermit Noah John Rondeau, farm implements and ice harvesting tools, and mementos of famous summer residents such as Victor Herbert and Kate Smith. The ticket booth for the Adirondack Scenic Railway is also at the train station.
