Will you land the monster fish and win the King George Fishing Derby?

Grab your gear and head for the lake! This family weekend of Fish - Fish and Fish some more is the annual King George Fishing Derby on Lake George - the Queen of the American Lakes. Both those new to fishing and deicated anglers will enjoy a great competition and crazy fun at the Derby.

Over $15,000 in prizes will be awarded to both adult and junior divisions, with juniors being anglers younger than 16 years old. The heaviest fish in each category will win prizes.

The adult division will compete for lake trout - minimum 27"; landlocked salmon - minimum 20"; largemouth bass - minimum 16"; smallmouth bass - minimum 16".

The junior division will compete for lake trout - minimum 23"; largemouth bass - minimum 12"; smallmouth bass - minimum 12". The junior division will not compete for landlocked salmon.

There are multiple launch sites and weigh-in stations.

Please Note - Registration is available online until 4pm on the13th. Registration details are on the website.

The Derby benefits the S. A. V. E. Lake George Partnership (Stop Aquatic Invasives from Entering Lake George).

The Derby is not all fishing - there will be food, beverages, and door prizes.

Lake George, known for its beauty and as the Queen of American Lakes, is spring-fed, 32-miles long lake surrounded by the southern Adirondack Mountains. The lake was valued by the Native Americans and has continued to be a favorite fishing spot for visitors and locals over generations.
