Centennial Ski Trail & Steam Mill Road Trail

You can enjoy…
Cross Country Skiing
within Adirondack Park

(6.6 mile RT, easy) Heavy blowdown from the July 1995 microburst is the highlight of this interesting hike. The trail passes right through the middle of the twisted forest which is also a popular deer yard with good wildlife viewing opportunities. An educational exhibit will be located at the southern parking area and a driving tour of the blowdown area is also possible via the Steam Mill Road Trail. Take NYS Route 12 to Burdicks Crossing Road, take a right hand turn between Lyons Falls and Glenfield. Go across the Black River and turn left onto Greig Road. In Greig turn right onto Brantingham Road to Brantingham. One parking area is currently established on the Steam Mill Road east of Brantingham Lake and is usually not plowed in the winter beyond the end of the town road (just before entering state land). The second parking area is from the Partridgeville Road, directly across from the intersection of 10 Mile Crossing Road.
