A six-to eight-hour paddle along a slow-moving, meandering stretch of the stunning Moose River. You can travel 11 miles in complete wilderness isolation where wildlife and birds are simply abundant. From downtown Inlet, take Route 28 south for approximately 7 miles turning right onto Rondaxe Road. Travel 3 more miles to the Old Iron Bridge for the put-in and parking. Note that at this point you are upstream and all floats are with the current. If you choose to paddle to Old Forge there is one required portage at the Indian Rapids near the Thendara Golf Course. You may choose to stage a vehicle in Old Forge at the Red, White and Blue Bridge on North Street for a one-way four-hour trip with no portage.
