We have everything you need for your Adirondack adventure. We specialize in comprehensive outfitting, gear rentals, and trip planning for anywhere in the Adirondack Park. We offer private instruction, group programs, school outings and vacation getaways for half day, full day, overnight and multi-day excursions. In winter it's no different for us, we live for snow and ice and take advantage of every prime opportunity to help you get out and enjoy the atmosphere in a fun and safe fashion.

We boast some of the finest licensed New York State guides in the Adirondack Park and a professional sales staff to help you gear up and plan your next adventure. We are fully insured and have guides certified by Red Cross, American Heart Association, SOLO, New York State and AMGA. We are a member of the American Canoe Association and partners with the American Alpine Club.

Here for an extended stay? Have a large group? We have two group lodging houses available, located on Main Street and walking distance from all the amenities Lake Placid has to offer. Housing 10 and 12 people comfortably with living space, full kitchens and baths and laundry on premise you can have all the comforts of home while away.

Guide Services:
Camping and Backpacking:
These programs are for those wishing for a full on winter camping experience or those looking for a 101 class as an introduction to sleeping out in the cold. If you are not sure if winter camping is for you, then try a 1-night camp trip, close to the trailhead and learn everything you need to know to enjoy this season of wonder. Want to get way out there? We can plan a multi-day camp outing and even bag a few peaks during the day.

Mountaineering and Slide Climbing:
Want to become a winter 46er? We have a 3-time winter 46er on staff that can lead you up any of the peaks from any direction you desire. Interested in trying out a slide approach to a summit? No problem, we can introduce you to anything from the Bennies Brook Slide on Lower Wolf Jaw to the Eagle Slide on Giant.

Ice Climbing:
The Adirondacks are famous for their "ice." It sets into the rock faces and crevices about mid December thru March (weather dependent). With our certified guides you can always depend on a fun and safe experience. Want to learn top roping, lead climbing, knot work, anchor setting? It's no problem.

AT and Tele Ski:
The Adirondack back-country is a winter wonderland of alpine touring and telemark skiing opportunities. Our guides can instruct and lead you on a wide variety of terrain from Whiteface Mountain to wilderness trails. Adirondack slides make for some of the best back-country ski slopes and with so many at hand we can introduce you to any level you desire. We offer introductory to advanced courses all season long, right into the spring skiing season.

XC Ski:
The Adirondack back country is a winter wonderland for cross country skiing opportunities as well. Our guides can instruct and lead you on a wide variety of terrain from our in town nature trails to the hiking trails that surround us. We offer introductory to advanced courses all season long, right into the spring skiing season.

Come explore the beauty of our winter wonderland by snowshoe. Climb a 46er High Peak, explore a fire tower mountain, bushwhack a seldom explored peak to hidden views or take a scenic stroll, whatever your adventure we can help.

Summer Services:Rock Climbing, Hiking, Kayaking/Canoeing, Mountain Biking, Road Bike Tours. We also operate two mountain bike centers, the Whiteface Free Ride Park at Whiteface Mountain for downhill biking and High Peaks Mountain Bike Center at OSC at Mt. Van Hoevenberg for cross country trail riding.

Our shop and guides service is open daily, year-round. Monday through Saturday: 9am-6pm; Sunday 9am-5pm
