A 1,909-acre parcel with beautiful views of Lake George from two summits. Cat and Thomas Mountains offer spectacular views of Lake George a mere five minutes from Bolton Landing.

The Preserve is family and pet-friendly with easy to challenging trails. Your dog must be leashed at all times. The Preserve is designated Carry In / Carry Out.

Hike the blue to the yellow trail from the Cat and Thomas Mountains Trailhead on Valley Woods Road to the summit of Thomas Mountain, a 716-foot trek up an old dirt road. A clearing on the summit offers 180-degree views of Lake George and the Adirondacks beyond.

Take the ridge trail, marked by yellow trail markers, 2.3 miles from the clearing on Thomas Mountain to the summit of Cat Mountain.

Cat Mountain can also be reached by following the orange trail from the Cat and Thomas Mountains Trailhead and continuing straight to the yellow trail. Follow the yellow trail for 2.2 miles until it intersects with the blue trail. The red trail, accessed from Edgecomb Pond and The Pinnacle, is the most challenging trail in the preserve.

Cat and Thomas Mountains are maintained by the Lake George Land Conservancy.
