Located in Tupper Lake, The Wild Center is one of the best family activities in the Adirondacks. Offering interactive exhibits both inside and outside, The Wild Center is a must visit attraction in the region. Watch the otters swim, learn about what makes the Adirondack landscape so unique, trek through the enchanted iForest, and get a bird's eye view from the crow's nest on the Wild Walk.
Summer at The Wild Center
There is plenty to explore at The Wild Center all year long. The Wild Walk, the 'High Line of the Forest', is the highlight of the summer months. A masterpiece in educational engineering, the Wild Walk takes guests along trails and bridges that lead up to the treetops of the Adirondack forest. This presents you with a bird's eye view of the surrounding area, while allowing you to feel as though you are still a part of the natural world. Another highlight of the Wild Walk is the Spider's Web, a large web that becomes a fun playground for children and parents alike. The Wild Walk is accessible to all visitors so that you can bring the whole family up into the trees this summer.
Winter at The Wild Center
The wintertime provides visitors the opportunity to go on snowshoe tours through the wilderness and learn about the animals that brave the cold winter, as well as those that are hibernating until Spring. All indoor exhibits remain open through the winter as well. There is always something fun and new to learn at The Wild Center in Tupper Lake!
The Wild Center is open daily during the summer season (May – October) and Fridays – Sundays during the winter. Check the official website for specific dates and hours of operation.
